Our green energy solutions below also offer operational and commercial advantages with optimum safety.
Please see below for more information on each solution.
Ammonia is piped from a production plant (up to 40km) to the Floating Storage Unit (FSU) utilizing a highly insulated underwater pipe-in-pipe arrangement and Riser Tower.
The FSU is safely moored by our patented Extended FSU Mooring System (EFM) allowing a traditional ship to ship transfer to take place with a visiting vessel. Stena’s patented Zero-Spill Emergency Release System also ensures no spill of ammonia will occur should an emergency disconnection take place.
No onshore storage or jetty is required, minimizing fixed infrastructure and CAPEX. Additional FSUs can be added to scale up storage with increased ammonia production.
The solution can also be applied similarly as an import terminal if required.
The FSU is safely moored by our patented Extended FSU Mooring System (EFM) allowing a traditional ship to ship transfer to take place with a visiting vessel.
The solution includes an ammonia to hydrogen cracking facility on jack-up platform and use of the EFM mooring on an FSU to receive and store the ammonia from visiting carriers. The pipeline can feed the clean hydrogen to a powerplant ashore or into a hydrogen pipeline network.
This innovative solution derives from our SRP and SPP platform solutions.
Attached to either the Self-installing Power Plant or Integrated Power Barge, the Carbon Capture and Storage injection unit (CCS) solution compresses CO2 to liquid form for either nearby direct injection or further transportation via pipeline or vessels.
The proprietary solutions can be based on LNG or pipeline gas and deliver compressed CO2 to ships, optimizing CO2 transportation cost.
Combinations with Stena's EFM mooring and other patented solutions may be applied depending on location and project requirements.
